Exactly. Brings up an interesting concept: ‘ID at a distance’

In China, I once used WeChat to pay a homeless person laying against a crosswalk sign on the street.

He pulled out a cell phone and pointed the screen towards me with a QR code on it.

As I crossed the street, I pointed my camera at his phone, and transmitted about 70 Yuan (about $10) to him. I could hear the distinctive DING from his phone, he looked at it and gave me a huge smile.

Consider this, it was all done without making physical contact, knowing anything about one another, and WHILE I WAS STILL WALKING.
